1. Obtain a microscope slide and a cover slip.
2. Place a drop of water on the slide.
3. Carefully lower the cover slip onto the drop of water on the slide.
4. Avoid trapping any air bubbles between the cover slip and the slide.
5. Place the wet mount slide on the microscope stage.
6. Focus the microscope using the low power objective lens.
7. Adjust the light intensity and contrast as needed.
8. Examine the specimen and make notes about the appearance and structure of the specimen.
9. Adjust the microscope to higher power objective lens if needed.
10. Make additional notes about the specimen.
11. Take pictures of the specimen if desired.
12. Label the slide with the specimen name or description.
