In this article, we will insert slide numbers into our PowerPoint presentation. As we know that slide number is very important as we insert numbers to our pages in any software. In a similar way, we will insert the slide number into our slides.
There are two different ways to insert slide numbers in PowerPoint.
First Method:
In
this method, we simply have to insert slide numbers with the help of
the text box on every single slide manually. As I know that this work is
very hard if we have a lot of slides then if we insert any other slide
in between them or at the start then we have to edit the page numbers on
each slide.
Oh no. Everybody knows that it's a very difficult
method to work with it. Then in the second method, we will learn how we
can insert page number after that if we will insert any extra slides
into our PowerPoint presentation then our presentation will manage it
properly.
That's sounds great.
Are you excited to learn to insert page numbers into the PowerPoint?
As you can see we have inserted a text box. Similarly, we have to insert the same text on the same location on each size and then hit the number to that slide number on each. I would not recommend this method because this method is a lot of time waste method.
Second Method:
In this method, we are going to insert the page number with the help of the "Slide Master". Now, we will go to the "View Tab" then "Master View". In the Master View, we can see that there is a "Slide Master" then we will click on the slide master.
After clicking the slide master we can see the different options for the slide master in PowerPoint.
As
we can see "Slide Master" appears after the file menu. Also, you can
see the different options for the "Slide Master" in the Quick Access
Tool Bar in PowerPoint.
As we can see there is a slide number box is appearing on the bottom of the right-hand side and we can see that I have highlighted it with the black box actually this box is known as the slide number. If we move it a little bit more on the right-hand side also we will decrease the text box as we know that we have decreased the text box size.
Now, we have done half of the work of our work. Now we have to go to the normal View as we know that we initially, working with the "Slide Master" Now, we will close the slide master view.
After closing it we will see the normal view of our PowerPoint.
Now, we return to the normal view of our PowerPoint slides.
If
we notice that there are no slide numbers is added to our slides in
PowerPoint. For this we have to go to the insert tab then in the text
group we can see the "Header & Footer"
Now, we have to follow the "Header & Footer" in the insert tab. Then we will see a dialog box with a different option.
Date & Time and so on.
But I have highlighted a box where it says, "Slide number" now this box is unchecked then we have to just check it.
After I have checked this box then we can see that there are three different options.
- Apply
- Apply to all
- Cancel
If
we will just click on the apply button then the slide number will apply
only to the selected slide. If we will apply to all then slide numbers
will be applied on all the slides. If we will cancel it then the slide
number will not apply as we will cancel it.
We are going to select "Apply to All" then we will check one by one that our slide number is applied to every single slide.
Slide Number 1 with page one as you can see from the slide panel and slide number 1 on it.
And so on.
...
...
...
...
...
...
and lastly.
In this way, we can insert slides number into our PowerPoint presentation. If you are not interested in inserting the slide number then you just follow the same steps and then just "uncheck" the slide number box as we have talked about before this. Then our slide number will be removed from it.
